A Butterfly from a Cocoon but with a Difference

The design of nature is unique in a way that it constantly challenges its own convention every time. This attribute of nature is the one that drives the living kingdom to be progressive, fondly termed as evolution by great minds. The intent of Human Library is no different from that of this inherent intent of nature. Also, nature does not easily endorse longevity unless a certain level of struggle is shown.

A Butterfly is often seen as a thing of beauty, nonetheless, the struggle to break open the cocoon and the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly are no less meaningful. Ankit Agarwal, a human book, is a living soul and a thoughtful individual who never hesitates to question stereotypes and who breaks stereotypes with ease.Unfortunately, the Mother Nature has other counter plans. He is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a…

What is Altruism ?

Image result for Altruism

Altruism is not for those who are inherently perfect nor is it for those trying to be perfect. Altruism is for those who show disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of other or for those who believe in doing the selfless deed without ranting about it to the entire world. It is all about being magnanimous, showing benevolence and performing self-sacrifice.

But tell me, have you ever found a deed that is selfless or magnanimous. It doesn’t matter whether you are a saint or an ordinary man. Some way or other your altruistic instincts are always fed by the hunger for glory or fame. Whether consciously or unconsciously, it is this thirst for glory and fame that is steering you towards generosity and bounteousness.

In fact, the entire premise of altruism is fueled by the insecurities and paranoia instilled by religion over the centuries. Take away the premise of heavenly adobe or nirvana and poof goes the concept into the thin air. Even Atheist, heathens and agnostics are no better than theist or deist. The atheists may not believe in God or religion but they sure do believe in making a name for themselves in history.

Just think about it, If people donate for the construction of churches, temples or mosque they are glorified for generosity and poise. But wouldn’t it would have been same if they just burnt that money on a pyre. There are far more important issues in this world than making a glorified hall for someone whose very existing is questionable.

This society condemns philanthropy by labeling it as a means to rinse one’s sin. But why the heck does it forgets to look at a mirror when it does the same every day. You or me paying a beggar is not altruism at the very best it’s egotism.

People act for many reasons; but for whom, or what, they act or should act is immaterial. No individual can ever act only according to his or her own interests without regard for others nor can they ever truly act for others in complete disregard for his or her own interests.

In fact, a person’s acts are determined by prior events; essentially taking away the concept of choice. But as it turns out in the grand scheme of things, a person obviously possesses some control over his or her next action. So, morally speaking, the ideals of altruism or egotism or egoism are illogical. One should pursue their own interests but without disregard to others’ interest and to an extent which is praiseworthy when compared to self-regarding acts.

The definitions in case you were wondering:
Heathens: Those who don’t adhere to a widely held religion (pagans)
Theist: believes in God but does not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, nor in a divine revelation
Deist: believes in God but does not believe in his superintendence and government, not in the doctrine of the trinity or divine revelation.
Agnostic: believes only what is knowable.

And I watched

I watched as the clouds rolled away,
I watched as the birds flew chasing them;
And, I watched as the world hustled on indifferently.

I watched as the rain fell towards the earth,
I watched as the earth quenched its thirst from the rain;
And, I watched as the world carried on.

I watched as the sun went below the horizon,
I watched as the horizon embraced the sun;
And, I watched as the world embraced the darkness.

I watched as the light pierced the darkness,
I watched as the darkness surrendered to the light;
And, I watched as the world turn its eyes on this serenity.

And I watched …….

Religion vs God. Who will win?

Religion has too deep a root. It’s like a disease that can only be suppressed but never cured. Many generations have tried to cure it’s most alarming symptoms but it always finds an antidote. If it’s not able to fight it, it assimilates it into its core.

May it be Christ, Prophet or other contemporary god men who tried to break the shackles of religion. We have twisted their afflictions to inflictions. Just look what have we done to their beliefs and teachings. Honor killing, dowry on the name of cultural dogma, terrorist jihad, pseudo monotheism, forced conversation. Were these the lessons they want the world to know.

We are spending millions in the name of religious ceremonies, all in their name; when we have far greater issues at bay. Religion !! What good has it ever brought? Wads of cash have been plunged into the abyss named religious freedom when the same amount could have been spent on more important issues like poverty or food security or human rights and basic freedoms.

But believe me, this entreprise of millionaires and billionaire is here to stay. The whole concept of religion has now been covered into a gold clade tyranny of profit making endeavor. This enterprise was once an abode of hope, restitution, and self-discovery. Now it has transmuted into to a corporate piranha.

The concept of God may fade may into the elusive enigmas of the quantum realm. But this leech will surely survive.

Just think about it. Why won’t the religion survive without God?

The god to whom hoards of religion are dedicated yet none seems to to be dedicated to him alone.

What good a god is when your god is and will always be different from my God.

What’s good with the god when your dedication will always be more superior than mine.

Every century has considered itself to the modern age but they all failed to foresee the iron fist tyrant named “religion”, steadily tightening its grip on society or masses. As long as the paranoia and insecurity instilled into the social construct by this gargantuan beast is present. No amount of educational awakening or awareness, scientific prowess will ever be able to combat the infection of this plague.

Spirituality and India

What is spirituality?

Its was an alien concept in India, Only the west knew spirituality. The word spirituality was defined by Christians. India never wanted spirituality.
All india wanted was to be a salve to dharma a concept far boarded and complex then spirituality.
Dharma a 1000’s of years old concept that almost per-dates religion itself or say spirituality.
Yes! dharma is not religion. Its more a way of life or perhaps a pathway that leads to a peaceful of life.
This concept was lost somewhere along the history. Now a days spirituality starts with money and ends with money.
We have some how got it mixed with the ridiculous notion that listening to hypocrite and god-men rant random verses from books of wisdom is spirituality.
Spirituality is not something you can earn its something that can only be experienced. You cannot share it nor can you preach it.
Yes indeed, India or for that matter the entire world lacks spirituality. We have polluted it with religion and terms like self-discovery.
Spirituality is more about self-belief, awareness and empathy.

What makes life worthwhile

Be humble to your present, modest about your past but always, always be hopeful of future. Being alive itself is worthwhile, so why bother with the charade of the perpetual motion of the social or religious norms. Just respect what you have today and aim to maintain the same if for some reason you are unable to add-on to it. People say life is a gift but i have always believed it’s lottery. Be thankful to the tide of time for it has brought you to the shore in-spite of the entire universe conspiring against it.
It doesn’t matter whose skeleton sits on the throne because one victory doesn’t make you a conqueror. As, dharmic philosophy says “glory is only once but karma is forever.” So, to make life worthwhile to live try to conquer your fears and conjure courage to undertake deeds not for glory but to quench cosmic karma.

Rumbels of an insomanic : Continued

Oh Man! This fan is driving me crazy. The constant swirling and the accompanied hiss is making me nauseated. As the fan swirls, it jostles the air within the confines of my sanctum sanctorum, generating what can only be defined as micro tornadoes. These tornadoes are agitating the bedsheet and the duvet with waves like that of an ocean. Even the curtains are going berserk, getting swept into the air like the north wind blows the skirts of those crazy Scotsmen. These fuckers are even fluttering my shorts and tees. Creeping me out, with the feeling as if something is crawling under my skin.

It’s hardly even a minute and my brain is already treating this hostile invasion as an irreverent nuisance and begging me to break-in those new noise canceling headphones. Even after, putting these puppies on, this sinner is still humming like a swarm of bumblebees in high noon. Hey! dude [Mr. God], please send those minions of yours to help me refrain from fucking this sinner over.

So, the genius that I am, I did try to look for a fan with silencers but man; are they expensive or what. I am absolutely certain that the inventor of these swirling bastards must have despised humans or was deaf. Why else would he have not made these lunatics silent?

But in part, I am also to be blamed. Why the heck did I choose this medieval torture device and that too with reflecting golden rims on rotor. These abominations reflect like disco balls. I may be exaggerating here, but they sure seem to reflect too much light from that minuscule night lamp on the other end of the room. I bet you even Hades has one of these in his VIP chambers, reserved only for the likes of Hitler. Just, just look at it. Nodding its neck in arrogance as if it is taunting me.

Fan: Pssst….. MATE, don’t make me come down there.

And stop looking at me with those hateful eyes.

I have been nothing but good to you.

You see, I have eyes too.

I know you what you are ranting about me on that phone of yours.

I am not kidding I will come down there.

Any time now… sure…just keep looking at me like that … and anytime now.
Me: Relax, relax you freak.

Okay, I am looking away now just don’t do anything rad.

Be cool man.

Be cool.

Wooooha…, that was a close one. Just thinking about the blood bath that it would have created gives me Hibby-Jibbies. This would have surely ruined all my fancy gadgets. Wait…! What fancy gadgets?

Huh, It seems I am more bothered about my gadgets than myself. I must be going cuckoo. I guess, talking to a fan surely does make you go nuts.Dude if that fan falls on you, you are cold turkey.

Meanwhile; That sinister twin was laughing his hearts out. His green eyes were glowing along with a massive grin on his face. So, I confronted him.

Me : Hey!! You, Yes! You,

Mr. Cool, I am in this tensed situation with your twin brother because of you.

Why did you bail on me when I need you most.

What do you think of yourself? That since graduated with the best cooling solutions you are special.

Well, fuck you too. Mr. AIR CONDITIONER.
