Life lessons from Lobsters

There’s an interesting, urban myth about lobsters. When you cook a pot of male lobsters, you have to keep a lid on the cooking pot because when they realize they’re in a pot of boiling water, they try to escape even-though, they know it is futile. On the contrary, when cooking female lobsters, you don’t need to put a lid on the pot, as they don’t show such willingness to escape as they know there’s no point in fighting a fight, which they have already lost. So, they just hold their claws and brace each other for the impending doom.

Although, this is factually incorrect, as lobster have a ganglionic nervous system and they do not feel pain like us. In fact, boiling or steaming them is the most humane and quickest way to kill. Never the less, this myth still sites a good question about life. Should we die fighting or surrender to the whims of time?

Well, What I feel is, knowing when to surrender or quit is equally important as knowing how to keep on fighting or not giving up. Off course, perseverance and never backing down from a challenge are desired qualities, if you want to be successful in life, relationship or even career. After all, One can’t just give up! There are a thousand reasons for continuing with something past the point where you should stop. But perhaps it might be impossible to “just stop”. However, more often then not we consider perseverance to strive for gold as the only norm for being successful because giving up is labeled, trivial or cowardly. In my opinion, many of the “buts” are mostly a figment of the imagination. In fact, they are just a case of mis-staken identity. You, and your goals are two separate things. Never giving up, is just a load of bullshit that we have brewed ourselves, out of the fear of social judgment and prejudice on our own abilities. We sugarcoat the rationale for not backing off with a pretext of psychological comfort often attributing it to the fear of the unknown, aka atychiphobia or the self-inflicted need of not causing a social uproar by upsetting others, that too, just because we falsely and inconspicuous, assign safety and entropy to perseverance and persistence. This obsession with never giving up is not perseverance, for the lack of a better word it is actually blind persistence. It is this blind persistence that eventually turns any quest into an exhausting and useless ordeal.

Yes!, it is logical to think that, if we were to endure a little longer or persistently work on something, then maybe with time we will fix all the problems and reach our goals. But isn’t it also logical to think, that things don’t always go the way we want them too? Even if we work tirelessly, trying to make things right by overlooking the fact, that our very attempts to fix things might be having a negative impact on them as well as on us. So, instead of being persistent in such futile fixes and enduring the pain and ordeal of living through troubled times among other things, is it not sometimes imperative to give up, just plain, old and simple, “STOP”.

One may argue, Yes!, it is true to let go of our goals and other trivial quests since, they can be readily replaced with other and better ones, but what about jobs, relationships, and friendships? After all, they are not easy to come by, one must work for them if they want to be happy in life. To that I only say this, Sure, working toward a worthwhile goal is elating and exciting but the moment you lose excitement about your achievements you should understand that probably it is not what you wanted, it is just what you do as it is not catering to your innate desires. As Cloris Kylie says and i quote, “You’ve become used to striving and never arriving.”. Although knowing when to quit may seem a convoluted idea but think upon it, not giving up on a job, a relationship or friendships can more often than not, make you unhappy or even physically and emotionally ill. What good a job is, if you are just doing it for the money but have no other incentives or receive no recognition for it; what good a relationship is, if the partners are not committed to it or there is no room for love anymore; what good a friendship is, if you are the only one hooting for it.

If a quest takes over all other aspects of your life then you must learn to let go of it, life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest; all thing that hinders this must be reconsidered by weighing their reason for continuation against that of life itself, because if you let your blind persistence overpower the aspects of your mental, emotional or physical wellbeing then any way you will lose all your physical strength as well as your coveted social assets like friends, family, and love.

OK, enough babel about why one should learn to give up, but how to determine, if it’s time to give up? The simplest and sure shot solution, that I can think of is, asking this question to yourself, What would be my life if I just stopped trying to solve it? And if, your inner aura answers, freedom and exhilaration then probably its time you gave up on it. Agreed that many things are iterative and demand continuous improvements and growth but at the same time, some things remand step changes and the decision to “give up” is one of those. So, it is important that you simply rip off the plaster on them. Painful, yes, but if you don’t, they will end up taking a huge chunk from your life, because just face it, continued work on a Gordian knot, expecting a solution with each iteration will ultimately lead to frustration and unbeknown you will begin to sabotage your own efforts.

It is always advisable to contemplate and reassess the outcome or needs of your goal and, if they seem realistic then you should see to their resolution. If not, it’s best that you reassess your commitment and avarice towards the goal in question. Don’t fall for the “what if ?” rouse. What if, I gave up now and then someone else did the same idea and got rich? What if, I just keep going another month? I recommend, to let your gut feeling guide you. You are most attuned to your intuition, learn to trust them and let them guide you to the places, you’re meant to go, the career you’re meant to have, and the people you’re meant to meet.

Speaking from personal experience, I spent half a decade working for a company, rejecting a job, I actually wanted to do because I had fallen into an agenda about the city I was in. Even-thought it was not stressful, but it sure was hard, my success was measured by random bets and the money was just decent. I was spending time on things that might work, not on things that were working. It was a good candidate to “give up”. The only advice I needed was to hear, “What the hell are you doing?, Just give up”. Not that it wasn’t offered, but perhaps, I didn’t listen, or maybe, I needed someone to give it to me straight. Although I didn’t waste my time there, but the prospect of being locked into something that was not working out, and was actually dragging me down was much worst. In the end, I quit, man was it hard. At first, it was horrible, there were a fair few failure-phobes, few who respected taking it easy more than trying and failing and even those who preferred the dull path. But I feed the inner best, my biggest asset – myself, by giving it up.

Sure, making the decision to give up is not be easy, may even cause you temporary pain, emotional trauma or remorse, but once you overcome these negative emotions, you’ll be able to welcome loving and uplifting thoughts into your life, opening a door to fulfilling and joyful life experiences, setting you on a path of learning, growth, and expansion!

So all in all, here are the 7 erogenous zones to touch when accessing whether to give it or not, not those of women, according to “Monica Gelllller :

  1. Just Listen to yourself
  2. Re-tally your numbers
  3. Get outside evaluation
  4. Be ready to rip off the plaster
  5. Take Atychiphobia head on
  6. Vanquish the “what if” worm, and
  7. Remember the cost of opportunity

7 erogenous zones in a women

Democracy : Utopia or Not ? – The Prelude

To answer the question Democracy : Utopia or Not? One first needs to understand what democracy is, its premises and types.

Demos means the people! Do you think democracy is of the people? For the people? Or even by the people.

Democracy is attributed to have its origin from tribal societies; where elders would take part in decisions or matters of concern. In fact, over the years several anthropological and social studies have confirmed; that democracy has been around since we started to settle into agrarian societies. Eventhough the first documented uses of it as a political tool was by ancient Greeks almost 3 millennia ago. Anywho, the democracy that we know today only came to be in late 19th and early 20th century with the adoption of full adult enfranchisement, all thanks to the suffragette movement.

Whatever may be the case, one thing is certain, over the millennia it has garnered fame, as the most popular way of ruling. Although democracy is deemed as, of the people, for the people, or for that matter by the people but contemporary democracy is way more than that. In my opinion, current democracies are more focused on opportunities to control or mislead masses with false promises of utopia, than on uphelding the actual premises of democracy; In fact, we have now polluted it with elements of oligarchic, monarchic, autocracy and coalition.

“actual premises of democracy” may seem like a fancy term, but for a democracy to function properly, there actually are some minimum premises that require upholding. All in all, democracy is not a mere political process but an elaborate system of fundamental rights.

Fundamental Rights Like :

  1. Contestation: ability to express discontent through speech and press. So that citizens can meet and discuss their views without fear of persecution.
  2. Participation and equality: Citizens to have the right to cast vote for or against policies of the state, and all their votes must be counted equally against the votes of others.
  3. Informed electorate: Members of the dēmos must have the opportunity, to learn about the policy and possible alternative and their likely consequences.
  4. Citizen control of government agenda: Citizens and citizens alone, decide how and what matters are placed on decision-making agenda
  5. Freedom of information: There must exist independent sources of information, not under the control of the government or single group while having the full protection of the law. And all citizens are entitled to seek out and use such sources of information.

Though the impulses, politics and historical circumstances that fostered these fundamental rights were not always themselves democratic. Yet, as they developed, it became apparent that they were necessary for achieving democracy in any political association as large as a nation or a state.

In fact, a perfect democracy is almost unattainable, therefore its imperative that we incorporate, not only what’s, best in the abstract, but also what’s best relatively to circumstances. After all, every form of the regime has both an ideal and a perverted form.

For instance, ideally “rule by one” is a monarchy but tyranny if perverse;
“rule by the few” is aristocracy but oligarchy if perverse;
just as the “rule by many” is ideally a “polity” but democracy in its perverted form.
In a bid to attain perfect democracy we have created many forms of it over the years. These forms are broadly categorised as :
  1. Direct Democracy : Which places all power in the hands of the individual. All political decisions are made by individuals casting a vote. Though it sounds like the ideal form of government; In practice, however, this system is hard to implement. Only small political communities tend to use direct democracy because with the expansion in the size of the electorate and the scope of policy areas, direct democracy can become unwieldy.
Example: ancient athens or perhaps switzerland
  2. Representative Democracy : Here an intermediary political actor is established between the individual and the policy outputs of the state. These intermediaries are elected via an electoral process and assigned the task of making decisions on behalf of the citizens who choose them. Generally, these democracies have two houses called, the upper house and the lower house. The number of intermediaries appointed to these houses is based on the population of the state. Although in this system, the power of the individual is diminished slightly, their political representations are still beholden to their intermediaries. Scheduled regular elections, allows the public to evaluate performances of the elected which in turn helps foster a relationship of accountability between voters and those that they put into power. Such democracies are implemented in various ways, the main mechanisms are:
    1. Parliamentary Democracy : They place power in the hands of the legislative branch comprised of elected representatives. The party with the highest number of votes then selects the head of the government known as prime minister or chancellor. One distinct characteristic of this system is the split executive which consists of the head of government and the head of state. The head of government controls the legislative process and policymaking agendas while the head of state just serves as the ceremonial representative of the country.
Example: UK (monarchy parliamentary democracy) and India (republican parliamentary democracy)
    2. Presidential Democracy : They concentrate power in the executive branch where public elects representatives for both the executive and legislative branches. Interestingly, legislative elections have no bearing on the composition of the executive branch. Here it’s entirely possible for one party to gain a majority in both houses yet for another party to win the presidency. These democracies operate under a very distinct separation of powers. The legislature controls the budget, proposes and passes policy, approves appointments to the cabinet positions, and ratifies foreign treaties while the executive serves as commander-in-chief, appoints executive cabinet members and representatives of the Supreme Court while serving as the head of state and the head of government.
      Example: USA, Panama, and France

What is Life? 2.0

What is Life? 2.0
What is life? Isn’t it an abyss full of unrealized dreams and shattered hopes. You may spend an eternity, it’s improbable that you will ever be able to comprehend its grandness or the sheer scale of it. Even if you have the courage to scale its depths to piece together those shattered hopes and unrealized dreams, it will still be an incongruous endeavor.

Nothing matters, you will always remain insouciant and capitulated in a quotidian disarray praying, maybe the next day will better than today. The more you will try, the harder it will become, to end this perpetual commotion and slumber of thoughts or to gaze into that rabbit hole. In fact, a will of steel and wit of a child is needed, to even garner courage of peeping into that bleak hole.
Your inner-voice keep on saying, not to get too bothered, but the bickering world never stops meddling, unless you jump into this chasm. But, the moment you leap over the ledge and plunge into this darkness, a never-ending stream of thoughts overwhelms you. And suddenly you realize that this realm of darkness is not all black, but there’s something to it that is surreal, almost dreamlike.
A dream from which you don’t want to wake up. Though the sense of euphoria accompanying this endless emptiness feels almost haunting and you think maybe you were content without exploring, but in reality, you were much more curious than a 2-year-old child. The adrenaline rush now fuels your inner self to go deeper. And as you go deeper you become more conscious and confident that you are the king of this realm, all you had to do, was try, try what nobody ever tried. The moment you realize this, you will see the darkness giving way to light, and there’s a mirror at the bottom of this never ending Abyss.
It’s you looking at yourself staring at the skies, from the bottom of a well. Staring at a vanilla sky full of hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

What is Excitement

The anticipation of something new or unknown is always much more euphoric than that thing itself. Your imagination goes into a frenzy, painting vivid and ebullient pictures of the events about to unfold. You feel giddy, butterflies start titillating your innermost desires, enticing feelings like that, of a new love or the passion of a consummated one. Summoning emotions that transcend mendacity of this pretentious world, absolving you of your dark desires. Yielding an amalgamation of thoughts with emotions & desires that elates you into a trans, as if you have achieved nirvana and are ready to ascend to a final abode.

Excitement is a drug so powerful that even morphine seems like an overrate artisanal water. The whirlwind of thoughts, comotion of emotions and beguilement of desires, that it entrails are like the ubiquitous longing of a chronic methhead. You start contemplating the improbable; imploring to elements to incite time dilation. So, that you can have both the physical and the metaphysical experiences at once.

Though it is hard to comprehend or possibly explain such longings. Perhaps our inner child could explain it as we adults are overly-cautious and intensely disturbed about the directions of our own thrills. Unfortunately and Ironically, the baroque explanations pulled from deepest childhood memories, are so odd to ourselves, that we unwittingly try to repress them.

Enthusiasms arising from excitement is so overwhelming that we thwart for in its obviation. This may sound odd but this enthusiasm is in fact motivated by a search for extrication of truth and eloquence. It not only paints a utopian perspective of things about to unfold but, also provides solutions to the thing we fear; making us feel more at ease, more relaxed and true to ourselves.

GOD, a product by humans

If god created men in his own image, I have no interest in meeting him

Humans, A species that has the misguided pride of being the only sentient beings in the known universe. In reality, they are the worst scavengers this universe will ever see. Their tendency to destroy anything or everything that is beautiful has no match, except for black holes maybe. Just Look the world around you, can you see a single ounce of beauty as it was meant to be. Their stupidity and greed knows no limit. They fight like rabid dogs over most ridiculous and unreal issues. They plunder and rape morality and sanity over unworthy buffoons and idols while seeking justice in rubbish and trashy works of fiction. And the saddest part is; to ease their burden of guilt; they have crafted a very clever workaround.

Humans with their infinite imagination, have concocted an omnipotent and omnipresent fictional character called “GOD” packaged in a sturdy box called religion. So, that they can easily pass their baton of guilt and burden of forgiveness on to him. They even added a tag line to this concoction for added spectacle, “To err is human; to forgive is divine.”

But the irony in this is, during this extravaganza endeavor they grossly overlooked a fact. The fact that, if this omnipresent and omniscient being, was supposed to be the creator of them in his own true image. Then doesn’t the tag line, in turn, implies that he himself was flawed. Doesn’t it render the whole concept of a great almighty creator as nefarious and illogical?

Just think about it,
Would you want your best creation to be inherently flawed?
Would you instill qualities in them that are deemed unworthy and flawed?
Or,
Why would you create greed, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, lust and pride?
If, they are the very flaws you want to rinse out, even from yourself.

Yet, interestingly enough these feeble minded dim wits have an explanation for it. A grossly oversimplified yet, misleading one. An explanation which itself begs the questions. If, he was so angry that he condemned his own creation to these sins then wasn’t he himself committing the sin of wrath and pride.

Alas! if, this frenzy stopped here. These so called, “Sentients” even crafted convoluted terms and conditions outlining their self-justifying and self-validating theories, to go along with their scam of a product. A sort of disclaimer which basically states that, even if they commit any one of the deadly sins, they are not to be blamed, as it’s not them, but some higher power conspiring against them and their beloved product called “Religion”. In fact, they even stamped this fraudulent claim as bigotry. Though this is both foolish and blind prejudice. Still, in the due time, it has transmuted into a real hard fact.

If only, they could experience, what actual bigotry is? Perhaps then, they could see the ugliness of this deceptive product. If only, these liars could somehow irrevocably understand that sins are not the real problem, but they themselves are.The hard and undeniable truth is, they indeed opened the Pandora’s box with this radical product of theirs. And are now playing the devil’s advocate themselves.

But, what bothers me the most is,
Their oblivious dependence on gods, prophets or messiahs.
Their reliance and faith in the facts stated in dithered and fictional works of literature which even a buffoon could tell were pure garbage.

Their capacity to inflict pain and brainwash entire generations into a hoax of a product in fancy packing.Their confusing, yet methodical approach to conform feeble minded brethren to their false beliefs and misguided morality.

I believe, it’s about time that this defective and expired product was pulled off the shelves and incinerated into oblivion from which it emanated in the first place. If this plagued product is allowed to run amok as it has been for millennia, then we are sure to face an armageddon in-spite of our prowess in scientific or technological avenues. Even though human logic and imagination knows, no rival but, it definitely faces rivalry from this creation of theirs.

What is satisfaction:

Do you think, such a thing really exists? Some people say they have seen or touched it but I think its all smoke no fire. I mean, just honestly have you ever seen this elusive beast yourself. No! you have only heard myths about it never facts.

I think it’s one of the most coveted secret guarded closely by oligarch of the puppeteer that people over millennia have called God. Just think about it if this secret were ever to come out will his kingdom survive. After all, he thrives off the prayers generated out of misery, not on the thanks from satisfaction. If someone says he’s satisfied I recommend to get as far as possible from that person. Believe you me that person will eventually ask you to donate all your worldly possession to him so that you can also have stratification. It’s just one of those terms created by society to provide a false sense of security or something to keep you shackled to the pursuit of an equally ridiculous concept called money.

It’s like one of those rare gems, surely to cause pillage on its way. It is like a sorcerer, always seeking ways to torture or chain you up. If you want to get out of its wretched grip, then you gotta be a rebellion. Once you give into its devotion, its detrimental dysfunction, slowing rushing you to destruction, you are liable to get alienated. Because face it society is a two faced bitch. No matter how much it raves for satisfaction. It likes no one who is satisfied. They won’t hesitate to shut you out, with no recourse at all. But to some extent, their anxiety is rightly pointed. It’s a fact satisfaction eventually lead to clogging of progress.

If you are satisfied with what you have, then what’s the need to innovate, deliberate or create. I would say satisfaction is and will always remain biased or a salve to the fabric of time. You may say, satisfaction is having the most exotic lunch box as a child, satisfaction is kissing your love as a teenager, satisfaction is buying a new car as a man or satisfaction is being with family when you grow old. I believe one should always stride towards success not for satisfaction but for gratification or just the thrills of it. The World may brand success as addictive but its a good addiction not like the necromancer that satisfaction is.
